Greetings from the author of The Noonday Sun, not yet completed but soon to surpass even See Spot Run and The Collected Shopping Lists of William Shakespeare in the annals of literary greatness. Though hard to pigeonhole, it's definitely what people call "fantasy fiction," set in another world with low technology but other, deeper forms of power. But it has a "realer" feel than most fantasy, and it's more about myth than magic.

The Noonday Sun asks this question: what if myths--the interlocking, supernatural stories of times before ancient, when the world was still being remade--had really happened? What would it be like to live in a real, workaday world with a true mythical history? What would it be like to refind the long-forgotten traces in the earth itself?

A small part of my world map, showing the South Realm, far to the west of the little island of Imme where the story begins. I will try to have a more readable version of the whole map up soon.

If I had to classify The Noonday Sun, I would call it a cultural fantasy, with large elements of adventure, romance, history, and mysticism interwoven. It's all one continuous story, but, since it might end up being 1000 pages long, I'm going to try to publish it in three volumes. So, I'm calling it a trilogy, although, between you and me, it's really a single big fat novel that happens to have three parts.

Book One will eventually have about twenty-seven chapters. I've written much more than I have posted here, and I've got the basic story of all three books worked out. At present, I'm working hard to get Book One finished, so I can seek an agent and a publisher. I will update this site with any exciting developments.
